People that have ADHD often think and/or act differently then those without ADHD
Students that have ADHD can take medication to help them slow down and think about what they are doing and to help know how to control what they are doing
The medication does not get rid of your ADHD but it helps you focus and concentrate better on what you are doing and how you do things
Methylphenidate drugs like Concerta,or Ritalin LA help affect the chemical signals that are in your central nervous system
Some research says that taking medication helps people with ADHD because it helps increase the amount of the level of neurotransmitters in the brain called dopamine and/or norepinephrine
Neurotransmitters are chemicals that assist in sending messages between nerve cells in the brain
Other then taking a pill there is a patch that you can take to have the medication
Each medication that there is for ADHD take care of the ADHD in a different way
Doctors work closely with the parents or the child that has ADHD in order to find out what medication and what will work best for them to help with their ADHD
Normal you have to try more then one medication in order to find out what one works best for you
When they are used the right way they are very effective but if you use them the wrong way then
There are side effects of some medication if they are not the right one that you should be taking
Taking medication is just one part of trying to take care of ADHD
